A Course Experience Worth Recommending

We recently held an Emergency Response for the Athlete (ERA) course in McKinney, Texas, bringing students and healthcare professionals together for hands-on training in the assessment and management of acute injury and illness in athletes. The ERA course combines self-paced learning with two days of in-person instruction focused on practical emergency response skills.

One student shared their experience following the course: “It was such a great course, Dr. Cusack was awesome, and I can see why, overall, your company’s course came so highly recommended.” We are proud of the expertise and experience our instructors bring to every course and grateful when participants take the time to share their feedback.

Dr. Cusack has been teaching with Cogent Steps for nearly five years, bringing more than three decades of clinical experience to the classroom. For her, one of the most rewarding parts of teaching is transforming that experience into practical knowledge that empowers the next generation of physical therapists. She also strives to ensure that every ERA student leaves the course with a reliable emergency response checklist and the confidence to recognize, respond to, and manage athletic emergencies effectively. Cogent Steps is grateful to Dr. Cusack for her continued dedication to our students—and to everyone who joined us in McKinney for another successful ERA course.
