Common Medications in Sports Medicine
Although the sports provider may not be credentialed to order or administer medication it is imperative they understand the most common meds used in the sports setting and understand their actions, interactions and side effects.

Objectives:
After completing this session, the learner will:
- The reader will understand the indications, contraindications, and side effects of medications commonly used in the sports medicine setting.
- The reader will be able to describe the appropriate dose and route of the most common medications used in the sports medicine setting.
- The reader will understand why certain medications are avoided in certain settings/circumstances.
- The reader will be able to describe a list of medications/classes of medications which they should rarely, if ever, use in the athletics environment.
